Spending More Time Outdoors
All this week, over on social media, we've been supporting Mental Health Awareness Week. Over the last year, our mental health has taken quite a beating. At Craft Festival HQ, we adopted a range of coping strategies which have ranged from reducing phone use, eating well, moving and making more, gardening and getting outside more. What strategies have you used to cope?
Maker Spotlight
On Tuesday, we broadcasted live on Instagram with Find a Maker member and jeweller, Su Trindle known as Quercus Silver.
Established in 2010, Su is a maker of bold silver and resin jewellery. Working from her studio in Bath, a recurring source of inspiration is early 20th Century abstract sculpture and mid-century design.
A full Member of the Devon and Gloucestershire Guild's, her work can be found in galleries throughout the UK and via her online shop. You can also meet her in person at Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey from September 10-12. See below for Su's 5 Favourites from the Find a Maker Family.
Su's 5 Favourites from Find a Maker
Anne Tomlin The attention to detail and skill of Anne's work is stunning but it is the fresh, lively effect it creates that I love.
Francisca Onumah Fran's sculptural silver pieces are very tactile, I just want to hold one.
Melissa Marie Leather Gorgeous clean-lined leather work. The simplicity is where the skill is.
Janine Partington I can't resist Janine's leather brooches. She brings her artist's eye to even her smallest pieces.
Rhian Wyman The subtle shifts in colour, tone and texture in Rhian's weaving are fresh and comforting. Rhian's throws are very modern classics.
