Rachel Snowdon is a West Devon-based printmaker and illustrator. She initially acquired a BA in Fine Art, followed by an MA in Photography, both from Central Saint Martins, London. She has exhibited internationally, including at TATE Modern, Blitz Gallery Malta, and Heart of the Tribe Gallery.
Primarily known for intricate linocuts, her practice has expanded into expressive monotypes inspired by personal photographs, text, and vintage ephemera. Rooted in social and natural history, her prints evoke decorative charm with esoteric, tragicomic narratives reminiscent of folk art and artefacts.
Working from her home studio, she offers a curated, harmonious selection of prints, as well as more unusual paper-based goods such as seed-saver packets, vintage-style bookplates, and decorative gummed stamps. Her work is available on her website, in selected independent shops and galleries, and in person at specialist craft or print fairs.
Rachel also accepts illustration commissions.

ALMANACK: a rearranging of the year.
In her first solo exhibition, ‘ALMANACK’ brings together a collection of original monotypes by British artist-printmaker, Rachel Snowdon.
With a long history founded in early modern forms of printmaking, illustration, and advertising, the almanac(k) is traditionally a vast anthology of often generic prognostications and helpful predictions for the year ahead.
In ALMANACK, this concept is subverted and hyper-focused; Rachel’s images become a self-conscious attempt to tamper with the storyline of a centuries-old calendric tradition, and allow boundaries between the known and unknown, and authenticity and unreliability, to be smudged.
ALMANACK’s painterly monotypes offer glimpses into a ‘re-arranging of the year’ via the seasonal, recurrent narratives of half-remembered stories; confused landscapes; folk tales or songs; strange proverbs; and uncanny encounters from a nostalgic era that can’t quite be placed - but somehow we’ve all been there before.
