Landscapes have always inspired artistic expression, but I believe textiles and fibre art uniquely evoke their spirit in a sensory way. Rather than replicate North Devon’s wildness, my work is an ongoing enquiry, blending hand and machine embroidery, embellishment, appliqué and spontaneous marks. Each piece I wish to exhibit reflects the fragility and transience of both subject and medium, inviting contemplation and connection. Textiles and fibre art offer a uniquely tactile and emotional way to engage with place. I am particularly drawn to the idea of inviting viewers to “watch where you tread”—to slow down, observe, and foster a deeper, embodied connection with the natural world.
