The first time I picked up a piece of clay was in 2015 and I could never have imagined that, 6 years later, I would be making and selling my work all over the world. I hand-build in black and white porcelain and line my pieces with gold and platinum lustre adding glamour, celebration and light. I live in Devon on the South Coast of England and I am definitely inspired by the natural world around me; nature, rocks and water, especially the sea and the beautiful River Dart, but also by the stories that the clay wants to tell me. If you stop and listen with your hands you will know what to do and I respect this amazing, beautiful tricky, capricious material enormously! Each piece is unique, fine, fluid and asymmetrical. Some pieces work well in groups and others stack to create unusual combinations both of clays and lustres. My nod at the practical is my collection of vases and ring bowls, but for me ... well I love the individuality and courage of the pieces which stand alone and don't need a purpose to be of value, except perhaps to catch the light. The collection includes bowls from tiny to large, scoops, open forms and much larger pieces. There are also miniature, medium and tall vases, No two are ever the same and so you can be sure you will have something truly one of a kind. These pieces make fabulous special gifts especially for weddings and anniversaries - they are tactile, unique, celebratory and glamorous.
