My work explores the dialogue between East and West, blending traditional Korean aesthetics with modern minimalist design. Inspired by cultural motifs—palace wall patterns, temple roofs, hanok doors, and the fluid forms of Hangul—I use language as both a visual and narrative element. Each piece becomes a layered story that bridges history, memory, and place, inviting quiet reflection and connection across cultures and time.
Originally from South Korea, I spent much of my adult life in Los Angeles, working in animation and visual effects. My discovery of ceramics opened a new creative path—one that engages both hand and spirit. After completing the ceramics program at Glendale College in 2018, I established a home studio and devoted myself fully to pottery. Since moving to London in 2020, I have continued my practice in a communal studio and will soon join Cockpit Arts.
My work has been recognized with the 2024 London Potters Annual Makers Award and both the Judges’ and People’s Choice awards at Morley College Gallery. In 2025, I was selected for Fresh 25 at the British Ceramics Biennial. A selected member of the Craft Potters Association, I exhibit internationally through galleries in the U.K., Japan, and the U.S.
