I produce hand printed lino cuts and sell these in my little gallery shop, alongside merchandise that has been created using my lino cut designs. I also stock other galleries dotted around the UK.
Based in Pembrokeshire, my studio/gallery is open to the public and is a stone's throw from Tenby Harbour amidst the hustle and bustle of this pretty little coastal town.
Visitors can see me at work whilst browsing the gallery shop and can have a peek at how the prints are created.
During holiday times I am usually open Tues to Saturdays, in the quieter times I may be out sketching or visiting new places for inspiration, so it is always worth contacting me ahead of a visit to check if I am open. Early winter is usually travels in the campervan!
I used to run my studio/gallery in North Devon and prior to that, taught art for many years in a local F.E College. I now have the opportunity to return fully to creating my own work, what a joy that is. Even when I was teaching, I still kept "making" in some form or other, with little bits of equipment and art stuff never far away from my lap or table.
Although I studied both a Degree and a Masters Degree in Printmaking, many years ago now, funnily enough I did not work with lino at all. This came about, a long time after my training, when my son was little and I wanted to do something that didn't take up much room and didn't need much equipment. As soon as I started carving into a block I was hooked. What began as a small scale "kitchen table" activity has now developed into my living and I am lucky enough to have a spatious studio to create and print from. As a midlander originally, it still excites me to be living right by the sea!
