
Jane and Michael, develop contemporary fabrics and cord using hand and mechanical knitting machines in their rural Nottinghamshire studio,
Janie Knitted textiles is a partnership of Jane Withers and Michael Hanmer, in their studio at The Harley Foundation at Welbeck in Nottinghamshire they create accessories, lighting and soft furnishings using British and merino wool together with discovery days and lampshade making workshops at Welbeck. Their lighting is currently on show in an exhibition at The Museum of Making in Derby titled 'Field to Fashion' which explores the different ways of using wool in clothing and beyond.
Their creative work is a direct response to environmental colours and textures and developing concepts and ideas around being sustainable.
