Designed, hand painted and fired leaded stained glass, inspired by the symbolisms reflected in nature. All pieces are unique and commissions are developed by working closely with clients and what is meaningful to them. This has especially been apparent in the memorial panels made for a local Long Barrow. Also working to commissions of windows in the home alongside designs sold on the website.
After completing a Degree in Illustration and Graphics I trained in the traditional technique of hand painted leaded Stained Glass. I have slowly built up my business over the last 10 years an work to commissions, exhibit in galleries, attend craft fairs and now teach and mentor students. I am a member of Heritage Crafts and recently have moved workshops to a site in Ellesmere in North Shropshire where I work alongside other heritage craftsmen. I began my business making panels and potholes for narrowboats as I lived on one and was then given the opportunity to be the main glass artist for Sacred Stones to make memorial panels for niches in their Long Barrows. This gave me valuable experience on commissions based around remembering loved ones and from that I have felt drawn to symbolism in nature, in particular a love of birds. This has appealed and resonated with people who collect my work as it is often very personal and meaningful to them.
Having had many personal challenges I realised the importance making the pieces have been in recovering from a breakdown. Painting on glass is very theraputic and liberating and so last year I began to teach how to paint by running a social prescribing course and one to one in my workshop. I hope to teach more in the future as well as developing my work further along the themes of spirituality and our connection to nature.
