Contemporary ceramic sculptures and homewares that combine influences from natural forms, architecture and Elaines East Asian heritage.
Elaine creates ceramic sculptures and homewares that are inspired by and combine her love for natural forms, contrasting architectural structures and her duel british and east asian heritage.
Each piece is meticulously hand-build from stoneware, red and porcelain clays with intricate elements created and applied individually, this instinctive process for elaine is a form of making meditation and gives each piece a sense of of movement and a life of its own. Bold coloured glossy and matt textural glazes are used to enhance each form and give an enticing tactility to each piece.
Elaine has several public art pieces commissioned for hospital and public enviroments, currently she is creating a large scale mosaic mural for Derby Citys new market hall. she exhibits and sells through galleries and attends fairs and festivals throughout the year.
