Christmas Gifts Made with Passion and Built to Last
Date: 21 October 2022
Hello,
Christmas Gifts Made with Passion and Built to Last
How we spend your money has never been under more scrutiny. Whether your concerns are the cost of living or climate change, shopping wisely and carefully is more important than ever. If you are gift giving this Christmas, Craft Festival Cheltenham gives you the opportunity to meet and buy from the finest independent businesses. Everything is made with passion and built to last.
One of those businesses is printmaker, Molly Lemon. Molly is a printmaker who specialises in wood engraving. Working onto end grain wood, Molly engraves images inspired by nature and the rural landscapes surrounding her. Concerned with conservation and climate change, she aims for her prints to reflect the beauty and vulnerability of the plants and animals we share this planet with.
Read on to discover the makers Molly is looking forward to at Craft Festival Cheltenham.
There is still time to enter our Luxury Weekend Giveaway to Cheltenham. Read on to enter.
Our Competition closes at Midnight on October 30th.
See you at Cheltenham Town Hall,
Best wishes,
Sarah
Molly works onto each woodblock using traditional hand tools creating thousands of fine marks which make up the final image. The block is then inked up and printed on her 1868 miniature Albion Press. Read on to discover her 5 favourites..
Alison Haddon Jewellery
I love nature inspired jewellery and Alison's pieces are so unique and playful. I especially admire the intricate details on all the little birds in her work.
Rosemary's illustrative style really appeals to me. I admire the looseness of the marks she uses to create all the details she adds onto each creation.
You can tell when looking at Jess's glassware that she has an abundance of skill and a brilliant eye for making elegant, eye-catching pieces. I also love the colours she chooses, especially her blues and greens.
As a printmaker myself I am often drawn to prints and Sophie's are right up my street! I really enjoy her use of colour, and how her work speaks of the past while also feeling totally 'of this time'.
Alison Taylor
Cosy, beautiful patterns and textures, what's not to love! I've had my eye on Alison's amazing knitted coats for a while!
