Be the First to Meet the Makers at Digital Craft Festival
Date: 25 February 2021
Be the first to meet the makers from next month's Digital Craft Festival
A Special Date for Your Diary
As we look forward to the easing of lockdown, we bring you something special for you to enjoy.
We proudly present our 3rd, Digital Craft Festival.
You can meet over 150 makers from all over the world and take part in a full programme of live and recorded, craft-packed activity.
We'd like to introduce some, new-to-us makers and two charities that we are supporting this year.
New to Digital Craft Festival
Meet potter, Lucy Burley. Her ceramic work is both decorative and functional: simple, wheel-thrown vessels (bottles, bowls, vases and jugs) which are useful but also have a sculptural, still-life appearance when grouped together.
Meet jeweller, Daphne Krinos. Daphne is one of the UK's most important and acclaimed jewellers and her work can be found in major museum collections including the V&A. We are so excited to present her work at the Digital Craft Festival and she will also be part of our Craft Conversations series talking about her work with Amelia Lawrence from Crafts Council. Meet paper artist, Kaper. Kate from Kaper, creates a paper menagerie of birds, woodland creatures and flowers. Her sculptures are designed by hand, using a ruler and protractor to design a template. Each design is decorated using mono screen printing techniques, to give each piece its own textures, patterns and colour palette. Kaper is also running a live workshop to make a paper owl. Meet textile artist, Jennie Jackson Design Using traditional hand dyeing, screen printing and painting techniques to create unique contemporary designs in textiles, Jennie employs multiple processes to create rich, multi-layered designs mostly on linen.
Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool
If you've visited or taken part in Craft Festival Bovey Tracey, you may have had a splash in our lovely outdoor pool. Opened in 1969 and still going strong. This Bovey Tracey institution, is run by an incredible community of volunteers and the Craft Festival team are big fans.
We want to support the Bovey Tracey Swimming Pool goal of giving free swimming lessons to children, who have missed out because of Covid.

CALM & Run The Country
During Lockdown, learning to protect your mental health has never been more important.
Our friend, Matt Bagwell (pictured) is an ultra endurance athlete & Advanced Oxygen Advantage™ Breathwork Instructor. During September 2021, assuming it’s legal and safe to do so, he will run 21 consecutive ultramarathons. Totalling over 1050 km and touching every one of 43 counties in England. Why’s he doing this? In recovery from depression, where he faced suicide twice, Matt’s purpose is to connect people across the country through a story of hope, for themselves and the people they love. Run the Country will raise awareness and money for positive mental health and suicide prevention, in partnership with The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
We want to support Matt on his epic journey and we'd love for you to join us in supporting Run the Country and CALM. CLICK HERE TO SUPPORT
