Located in south Oxfordshire, I make hand carved spoons, and other small items of ‘treen’, from locally sourced green-wood, often wind-blown branches, occasionally from felled trees.
My journey with carving began in 2012, but only in more recent years have I been satisfied with the outcomes and finished items.
Each piece I carve is a 'personal journey' and, whilst a predictable end result is the desired outcome, sometimes the wood has other ideas!
Nothing I make is finished with abrasive sandpaper, just with knives, to show the hand-carved and unique nature of each piece.
