Using traditional silversmithing techniques I design and handcraft works inspired by natures flora and floral inspired patterns.
The flowers I make are recreations of classic botanical favourites, where I try to capture the fine details that make each flower unique, be it the sweeping curve of the fuchsias skirted sepals or the multiple stamen hidden inside a snowdrop or a bluebell.
I am particularly drawn to blooms that consist of multiple flowers such as alliums and hydrangeas. These pieces take time and patience to create but they appeal to my love of pattern and flow.
The majority of my pieces are made from 100% recycled silver, although I have been known to work with recycled gold and other non-precious metals from time to time.
My practice is small scale individually handmade works with a focus on sustainability and the environment as my aim is to highlight the beauty in natures flora by producing long-lasting works to be treasured.
