Shirley is a London-based jewellery maker and designer and her work is inspired by the sea, the natural world, Modernist art, and personal references like hair texture. It tends to be sculptural and tactile, often blending flowing lines with textured surfaces. She mainly works in recycled silver, often incorporating enamel or gemstones, with a focus on small collections and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Each of her pieces are made by hand using traditional techniques such as lost wax casting, forging, granulation and keum boo. She's drawn to methods that allow for experimentation and subtle imperfections – where the process becomes part of the finished piece.
Sustainability is a key part of her practice. She uses recycled silver and sources stones from ethical suppliers wherever possible. She works slowly and intentionally, focusing on small collections and one-of-a-kind pieces, outside of seasonal trends, to create jewellery that feels personal, expressive, and made to last.
