I finally started my own small business late in 2020, after retiring from over 30 years of teaching ceramics and art. However, I am still in touch with education, holding various workshops in my garden studio. I have developed my own hand-built techniques and designs in both functional and sculptural ceramics. My work derives from particular influences and impressions sourced in texture, colour, and pattern through the natural world around us. My work is mostly built through hand-built slabs and most recent works have developed from observations made in typically English woodland, forests, garden borders, hedgerows, fields, and meadows. I use mainly underglazes, slips, and oxides when decorating my work.
I have been selling my work through Artisans Handmade Gallery Newbury, the Artistry Gallery, Henley, Fitch and Fellows Gallery, Thame and various national shows in 2022 to be found via my website.
