I am so excited about my latest venture with a group of like minded makers and artists.
We are The Loom, The Stich & The Wardrobe. You can find us on instagram.
We are on a Mission To Mend. We are dedicated to teaching people how to care for their textile items throughout the entire lifecycle from purchase, wear, maintenance/washing, repair, repurpose, up-cycle, second hand, refashion, embellish, and hand down / pass on.

We will be at Bovey Tracey Craft Festival on 7/8/9 June 2024 - Stand MM6.
Each one of us is doing an individual workshops over the three days.

Note you will need to purchase a festival ticket as well as a workshop ticket.
As well as our individual workshops we are on a Mission To Mend:
We will mend, help mend or give advice on mending for three days non-stop so please bring along a beloved item that needs attention and repair. No fee for this. Help make our mission a success by joining us on our stand and adding your mending story to our story wall.
Our dream is to repair a mountain of clothes during the festival.

A BIT ABOUT ME
I am a Belgian clothes designer and maker who studied in Antwerpen at the Academy of Fine Arts and at CTL in Gent. I worked for a number of renowned Belgian fashion designers before setting out on my own, and have been living and working in the UK for over 25 years.
I make one-off handmade pieces in natural materials that are both timeless and contemporary.

The finishing touches are hand stitched with meticulous attention to detail - as intricate on the inside as they are minimalist on the outside. I often use sustainable and vintage materials. Most of the fabrics I work in have been pre-washed by me with ecological detergent to ensure the fabric will behave well with home laundering.

I prefer to discuss before you purchase as each piece is unique and I need to make sure the sizing and details work for you.
​
I have a passion for materials and shapes, and always make pieces with forever in mind.
​

Butterwalk is a market place for co-working, retail and creative mind / craftsmanship firmly rooted in social and environmental sustainability.

The store is located on the High Street in Totnes opposite and slightly up from the Market Square, behind The Curator Coffee Shop.

You will find my work on the 1st Floor next to the Atelier where the NaaiNaai collection is made in-house. If you would like to meet me in person to discuss my work or any commissions I shall be there on Fridays.

In this week's episode of The Capital of Craft, Sarah James from Craft Festival & Find a Maker talks with clothes designer/ maker Sigrid Verschraeghen from her home in Silverton, Devon.
Born in Belgium, Sigrid won the coveted Best Stand award at 2021 Bovey Tracey Craft Festival. She trained as a fashion designer, working with various fashion houses, never feeling at home with the values of mainstream production. A move to the UK followed and the process of creating her slow-fashion label began.
